Get It Scrapped! Double Up!

***If you are looking for the LOVE MY TAPES Blog Hop, please go HERE.***

I have two layouts to share with you, for Get It Scrapped!  We had some great assignments for the month of October, and I loved working with them.

The first is for yesterday's article, Inspired by Entertainment.  You can find inspiration everywhere and with all of the technology out there these days, it's right at our fingertips!  Our 3 year old loves playing on the computer and on our phones, so I couldn't resist doing a page with this photo and the complete concentration he had on his face.

For this layout, I decided to take inspiration for my page, from one of my favorite video games when I was younger, Pacman.  I used my Cricut Expression to die cut my Pacman and the little ghost for my page.  I also love the little yellow dot trail that you follow on the Pacman game, so I decided to incorporate it, by punching circles with my 1/4 inch punch.  And here is the inspiration image I used, for my page:

Supplies - Patterned Paper:  My Mind's Eye & Crate Paper; Wood Veneers & Spray Mist:  Studio Calico; Thickers:  American Crafts; Punches:  EK Success & Marvy; Brads:  The Paper Studio; Button:  Stampin' Up; Font:  CK Matrix

The second layout is up today, for the Modeling Paste article.  If you haven't tried Modeling Paste yet, I definitely recommend it!  It's so much fun!!

Using Modeling Paste is a great way to create great texture on your pages, without adding a lot of bulk.  I used a reverse Chicken Wire mask from The Crafter's Workshop to add the Modeling Paste to my layout.  A credit card or stiff piece of plastic works for spreading the paste over your mask.  Once I applied the paste to the spot I wanted to fill on my layout, I removed the mask and let it dry.  It doesn't take too long for the paste to dry.  After it was completely dry, I used an ink pad and brushed it over the Modeling Paste, until the color covered the surface of the Chicken Wire design.  Then I added a little bit of Spray Mist, by sprinkling it over the page, using the nozzle from the bottle.

Supplies:  Patterned Paper, Chipboard, & Vellum Papaer:  American Crats; Modeling Paste:  Liquitex; Tin Pin & Mini Market Stickers:  October Afternoon; Punch:  Anna Griffin; Font:  Chelsea Studio & Abadi MT Condensed; Wood Veneer & Mister Huey's Spray Mist:  Studio Calico; Chicken Wire Mask:  The Crafter's Workshop; Ink:  Close to My Heart

Love My Tapes/Authentique Project Inspiration Fall Blog Hop

Love My Tapes and Authentique Paper are getting crafty over the next couple of days to bring you tons of inspiration using Love My Tapes and Authentique Paper!  To get you into the holiday spirit, the Love My Tapes Design Team will be sharing their projects with you with a Fall Blog Hop.  Be sure to stop by all blogs for a chance to win some Love My Tape goodies.

I received the Festive collection and the Curiosity collection to work with.  I loved both of these collections and the layout I am sharing today is from the Curiosity collection.  If you want to see the layout using Festive, you will have to check out the shares that are up on the Authentique Blog this coming week.

It was really fun to pair two of the tapes from Love My Tapes with this collection.  The Blue and Yellow looked great together, so I used the two tapes along the right hand side of my page as border strips.  I also added some Mister Huey's Spray Mist, to add the masked hexagon look to my background paper.  Then I misted over the diagonal striped patterned paper with the Taxi Yellow and cut several hexagon shapes that I used over the masked area.

And now is your chance to visit each of the Love My Tapes DT member's Blogs.  You can win a prize, by leaving a comment at each DT Blog and then heading back over to the the Love My Tapes Blog  for a chance to win some fabulous Love My Tape product!!  The Hop will be going on today, through November 1.

Dancing Divas

It's time for another Fabulous Friday challenge at Frosted Designs and this week we are challenging you to use SPORTS/DANCE on your projects.  This is a fun challenge and there are lots of ways for you to incorporate it into your layouts, cards, or altered projects.  I chose Dance for the theme of my layout, since I have two little girlies taking Ballet this year.

This page kind of threw me for a loop when I started working on it.  There were several different colors going on in the photo, because of the girls' Ballet outfits.  I didn't want to turn the photo b&w, so I decided to just try and work with the colors in the picture.  I am still not sure that it all meshes incredibly well together, but it is a fun little girl page, so I guess I accomplished my goal.  :)  I think the main thing that kept me second guessing was the color of the ribbon, because it was so vivid with the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan papers.  That color isn't really represented in the papers, but it is a dominant color in the photo.  I added the stitching in the same color as the ribbon, in the hopes to balance it a little bit.  One of my favorite things about this page, was playing with the Heidi Swapp Color Magic papers.  I added some OA Sprinklers to it and it created such a soft and pretty pastel pink, against the black lines.  I highly suggest picking some of it up, if you get the chance, because it is pretty awesome!!  :)

Don't forget to come play along with us this week, for the chance to win from our Sponsor, SpiegelMom's Scrap Shop!

Products Used:  Patterned Paper & Buttons:  Dear Lizzy; Color Magic:  Heidi Swapp; Spray Mist:  Studio Calico & October Afternoon; Thickers:  American Crafts; Lace Tape:  Love My Tapes; Wood Hearts:  Pink Paislee; Flair:  A Flair for Buttons; Punch:  Anna Griffin & Marvy; Other:  Ribbon

A Spooky Situation!

Happy almost Friday!!  :)  Happy Thursday, just doesn't sound all that awesome!!  But I do have an awesome Washi Tape from Love My Tapes to share with you today, that I used on a Halloween layout.  I knew that the black & white "lace" patterned Washi Tape would be perfect for a Halloween page.  I have held off using it, specifically for this layout.  Here is the layout I created, and then I'll tell you how I used the tape:

I thought the tape would look great placed behind a negative cut title.  I roughly measured the area for my title and cut it on my Expression.  Then, I took three strips of the Washi Tape and lined them all up on a white piece of cardstock.  After my title finished cutting, I just placed the Washi Tape piece behind it and then trimmed it down to the the size of my title spot!  Very easy and I love the way it looks behind the Orange chevron...definitely got that "spooky" effect I was going for!  This look could work for any of your tapes and layout themes, and it gives a little added interest to your title!  Another great idea for this technique would be for negative cut shapes...circles, triangles, or whatever you decide to create!

I also added in some of the Mint Green diagonal Washi...I think it just might be my favorite!!  And speaking of favorites...I am TOTALLY  in LOVE with the Witch Hazel collection from October Afternoon.  It is definitely my favorite Halloween line to date, from any company.  I only ordered a small quantity, but I have a feeling that I will have some more of it in my cart on one of my online shopping stops!!  I decided to add the chicken wire modeling paste on a whim and really loved how it popped on the Teal background paper.  I thought about adding some mist over it for color, but decided I really liked the look of the stark white.

Thanks for stopping by today!!  And make sure you check out Love My Tapes on Facebook, the Blog, and LMT is also now on Pinterest!!

Did That Just Happen?

I was excited to start out yesterday with a little happy news...and some pretty unbelievable news at that!!  My layout "Confessions of a Scrapbook Addict" was chosen as the Featured Project at Two Peas!!  I did this page as one of my DT layouts for ScrapFIT, based on Diana Fisher's sketch!  I really liked the way it turned out in the end and decided to load it to my Two Peas Gallery...not every layout I do, makes that cut!!  :)  So I was pretty excited when it ended up being Featured yesterday!!

Here's the full page again, just in case you missed yesterday's post for ScrapFIT!!

And thanks to everyone who stopped by and left a comment for me at Two Peas!!  I love having such great scrappy friends and it's awesome that we can all support one another in our scrappy addictive-ness!!!  :)

ScrapFIT Workout #78 - Diana's Sketch!

Today, there is a new Work Out up at ScrapFIT, and it's an awesome one by our Creative Trainer, Diana!  I always love working with Diana's sketches and this one came together really quickly once I sat down and got started!

I had some fun and made my own Chevron negative die cut for this one.  I used the Chick font, for the Chevron shape and then lined them up the way I wanted it in SCAL.  Originally, I thought about backing some of them with different colors, but once I started layering, I liked the look the way it was.  And one of the great things about doing negatives, is that you have positives to work with too!!  I just took several of the positive pieces and added them here and there for a little more Chevron fun!

Don't miss out playing along with us this month!!  Come over to ScrapFIT and link up your project, for the chance to win our Low Cal FITkit from Paper Issues!

I'm Doing This!

Have you seen the fun Photo A Day challenge?  I have seen it popping up, but kept thinking, "why do I need to do a photo a day, since I don't do Project Life?".  Well, I finally decided to pop over to Fat Mum Slim's Blog yesterday and check it out.  There are so many awesome prompts for each day and now I am thinking, that I usually take at least one photo a day anyway, so why not play along.  Plus, as Chantelle puts it..."all the cool kids are doing it"...and who doesn't want to be a cool kid!!  HA!  :)  And I do realize that I am getting in a little late for October, but she mentions in her post, that there are no rules, so that means there is no rule saying I can't start on October 11 instead of October 1!!  :)  Here are the prompts for this month:

If you would like to join in too, just pop over to Fat Mum Slim's Blog and check out the details.  I'll be sharing my photos through Instagram, Facebook and Twitter!!
